Experimental Analysis of a Fish Guidance System for a River Water Intake

This paper describes the experimental study of a behavioural barrier consisting bubble curtain placed near an ecological river water intake, aiming to assess curtain’s influence on velocity field flowing in intake proximity. The scientific novelty is given by solution operating tandem with dedicated generator used for avoiding fish entrapment. present research based run-of-river without dam riverbed, maintaining mountain rivers longitudinal connectivity. An setup was designed and built intakes different conditions. Thus, tests were performed two velocities (0.33 m/s 0.535 m/s) setup, depths (92 mm 119 mm) air flow rates (10.5 LPM 15 LPM). results compared case when no injected through generator. assessment inside channel made measuring analysing variation vertical horizontal direction. showed significant gradient proximity, which can contribute influencing behaviour deterring them from area.
